The piano cycle "Spring" contains eight piano pieces. Each piece begins with a stanza from the poems: "Spring Arrival" and "Winter Goodbye"! by A. H Hoffmann von Fallersleben and "The Nightingale" by T. Storm.

The poems complement the musical content of each individual piano piece to provide musical inspiration to the pianist.
